New Member/Outreach

The New Member Development is designed to welcome and orient new members to the various ministries, activities, and responsibilities of church membership.

The Outreach Ministry is a way for the church to express love by providing information, services, and support that meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the members and the community.

Orientation Ministry

The Orientation Ministry helps new members learn more about our church, the basics of our beliefs, Bible study participation, opportunities for service, financial health & contribution, and ways to strengthen their devotional life.  Members also gain an understanding of how the church operates along with its history and more.  This ministry also facilitates the process for newcomers to meet others who are new as well as church staff and leadership.

Benevolent Ministry

The Benevolent Ministry helps people through tough times and makes good times sweeter.  This ministry seeks to provide life essential needs, financial assistance and/or Biblically-based guidance for members to help them in a time of hardship or when extraordinary circumstances create special financial needs.

Prayer Warriors

The Prayer Warriors are members of the church who are known for regularly intercede on behalf of others before God. To intercede means to come between, so prayer warriors are, in effect, coming between God and the trouble in another person's life.  Prayer Warriors believe in the power of prayer, believe in God's promises, and have a desire to be instruments of His will.

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father Which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them."

-Matthew 18:19-20 KJV

Angel Food Ministry

The Angel Food Ministry provides discounted food not only for those that need it, but for any others who appreciate deep discounts on quality food.  It enables our church to be an effective outreach to the community to meet the food needs of people from all walks of life.  Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items. One box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality you would purchase at a grocery store.  There is no limit to the number of units/boxes or bonus foods an individual can purchase, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere.  Angel Food Ministries, like most all other retail grocery stores, also accepts U.S. Food Stamps.  Each Angel Food unit only costs $30.

Columbia County Cares

Columbia County Cares, Inc., referred to as the food pantry, is an ecumenical non-profit organization that provides temporary, emergency relief to the unemployed, the underemployed, the elderly on fixed income and single parents. No one with a legitimate need is refused help.

The food pantry is supported by some churches in Columbia County and some fringe churches in Richmond County and also enjoys the support of some local schools, scouts, church groups and civic groups.

Columbia County Cares, Inc. operates under the Golden Harvest Food Bank located in Augusta and is an internal Revenue Service 501 © (3) charity; incorporated in the State of Georgia.

Manna Truck

Manna Truck distribution is an opportunity for our church to provide FREE fresh produce, dairy or other perishable foods, and grocery products to individuals and families within the community who are in need.  It is an outreach facilitated by the Golden Harvest Food Bank.  The produce truck consists of various produce grown in a season like cucumbers, eggplant, salad packs, squash, watermelon, and tomatoes; whereas the surplus truck offers paper products, canned goods, cereal, snacks, drinks, condiments, health care items, pasta, and personal care items.

Community Concerns

This ministry provides members with information about concerns in the schools and community which affect children and their families as well as political information about candidates, elections, voter registration and much more.
