Reverend Robert L. Ramsey is an anointed man of God.  He is a native of Thomson, Georgia.  Reverend Ramsey is married to the lovely Joyce E. Ramsey.  They are the proud parents of two children, Shaimarco Termel and Tanika Nicole.  They have one grandson, Malik Ramsey.

He received his early education in the McDuffie County School System of Thomson, Georgia and graduated from Thomsom High School, Home of the Bulldogs.  Pastor Ramsey attended the American Baptist Theological Seminary Extension.  He graduated from the University Hospital Clinical Pastoral Education program, Augusta Center for Biblical Study Bible College, Andersonville Seminary and Paine College.  He is a Licensed and Certified Pastoral Counselor and Certified Temperament Counselor.

Pastor Ramsey served as the pastor of Smith Grove Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia; Jones Grove Baptist Church of Thomson, Georgia; and Popular Spring Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia.  He is an active member of many local, state, and national organizations.  Some of these organizations include: President, Columbia County Church Fellowship; Board of Directors, Partnership for Community Health; Board of Directors, Richmond County Youth Detention Center; Second Vice President & First Vice President, Baptist Ministers Conference of Augusta; and President, Baptist Ministers Conference.  His past affiliations include: Member, NAACP; Thomson Chapter McDuffie County Ministerial Alliance; Board of Directors, We Care; Golden Harvest Food Bank; Mentor, J. A. Maxwell School; and Chaplain, McDuffie County Hospital.

Reverend Ramsey has been Pastor of Gospel Water Branch since May 1982.  Under his leadership, a number of programs and ministries have been established and developed to include: Christian Education Ministry, Outreach Ministry, Music Department, Special Ministries, Pastor Support Ministries, Annual Celebrations and Church Operations.  In addition, Pastor Ramsey presided over the building of a new sanctuary, education and fellowship hall.  He expanded Sunday services from one service to two services.  Furthermore, Pastor Ramsey organized and developed Summer Enrichment Program, Christian Youth Leadership program and as part of the vision from God, the Elderly Assistant Care Home.

Pastor Ramsey's passion is winning souls for Christ and to fulfill the vision God has given to the Gospel Water Branch Church Family.
